William Bernard Lambert

Mr. William Bernard Lambert, 89, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2012 at Vidant Medical Center.
Services will be private.
Mr. Lambert, a native of Waynesboro, VA, had been a resident of Grifton since 1958. He was employed as a senior engineer in environmental control at DuPont, retiring in 1982 after 30 years of service. He served in the US naval reserve in the South Pacific during World War II. Mr. Lambert was a graduate of VMI and Hampton Sidney College. Following his retirement, he volunteered regularly as a Patient Transporter at PCMH, accumulating over 2,000 volunteer hours. For his service to his community, he was recognized by Governor Jim Hunt.
Mr. Lambert was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Knapton Lambert; and a grandson, Mickey Wayne Peacock.
He is survived by his:
daughter, Susan Peacock and husband, Keith, of Kinston; and
son, Mark Lambert, of Kinston;
granddaughter, Gina Cox and husband, Samuel, of Ayden;
grandson, Jeffrey Keith Peacock, of Jacksonville;
great-grandchildren, Mary Carter, of Kinston,
Kayle, Camryn, and Caroline Peacock, all of Knoxville, TN.
