Mrs. Irene Mills Stancill, 80, died Saturday, March 6, 2010.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in Pinewood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Stancill, daughter of the late Lester and Pattie Ruth Harper Mills, was a native and lifelong resident of Pitt County and a graduate of Chicod High School. She enjoyed a successful career in agriculture, partnering with her late husband, Wiley Stancill, Jr. She was a lifelong member of Timothy Christian Church.
Irene’s greatest joy was cooking for her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Mills.

Surviving,

daughter, Wilene Loftin and husband, Glenn; and

sons, Danny Stancill and wife, Jane, and
Chris Stancill and wife, Lori; all of Gardnerville;

grandchildren, Jason Loftin, Patti Jackson, Kristie Newell, Ben Stancill,
Blake Stancill, John Stancill and Danielle Stancill;

great-grandchildren, McKenzie Loftin, Colby Loftin and Zachary Newell;

sisters, Patsy McCarter and Kay Mills both of Black Jack; and

brother, Rev. Theodore Bradshaw of Greenville.

The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home Sunday from 6 – 8 p.m.
