Mr. Elbert “Lynn” Smith, 61, died Saturday, March 6, 2010.
The funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church by his pastor, Bobby Thomas. Burial will be in Pinewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Smith, a native of Pitt County, had lived most of his life in Greenville and was a graduate of Ayden High School and Pitt Community College. He was involved with the automobile industry for over 30 years and was presently employed with East Carolina Auto & Truck Center. A member of Calvary Baptist Church for 36 years, he served as a deacon, church treasurer and taught the teenage Sunday School class.

Surviving,

wife of 40 years, Deana Gladson Smith;

daughters, Sonya Smith Braxton and husband, David, of Chocowinity,
Crystal Michelle Smith of Greenville and
Amy Smith Rogerson and husband, Adam, of Charlotte;

grandchildren, Michael Jeffrey Smith of Chocowinity,
Andrew James Rogerson and
Emily Elizabeth Rogerson both of Charlotte; and

sisters, Joyce Powers of Grimesland and
Judy Vandiford and husband, Charlie, of Greenville.

The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home Monday from 7 - 9 p.m.
