Mr. Charles “Ed” Flanagan, 61, passed away Monday, March 8, 2010 at his home.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 4 pm in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 pm prior to the service.
Mr. Flanagan, a native and lifelong resident of Greenville, was a graduate of Rose High School and Pitt Community College. He was a retired Vietnam Veteran in the United States Army. For several years he was employed in sales with Weeks Seed Company. Mr. Flanagan an avid outdoorsman, loved hunting, fishing, and his Australian Cattle dogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Jean Gaskins Flanagan.
He is survived by his:
wife of 37 years, Betty Lamb Flanagan;
daughter, Emily Elizabeth Flanagan and fiancé, Jared Ratz, of Greenville;
son, Edward Keith Flanagan and wife, Maxine, of Greenville;
grandchildren, James Latham, Elizabeth Peyton and Charles Ryder;
sister, Jean “Jan” Gaskins Flanagan, of Grifton; and
eight nieces and nephews.
