Mrs. Clara Whitehurst Williams, 92, passed away Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Cypress Glen.
The funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 4 pm in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park. A reception will follow after the burial at the Four Seasons Room at Cypress Glen.
Mrs. Williams one of eleven children, was a native of Pitt County. She graduated from Bethel High School and attended East Carolina Teachers College for two years. She married Hugo Williams and they made their home in Greenville. For a number of years she was employed with Blount Harvey Co., and later retired from Bilbro Wholesale. She was a longtime member of Jarvis Memorial United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugo L. Williams, and a son, Steven C. Williams.
She is survived by her:
sons, Ronald H. Williams and wife, Judy, of Farmville, and
J. Kenneth Williams and wife, Martha, of New Bern;
daughter in-law, Cindy Wall, of Clayton;
grandchildren, Lolly Williams, of Wilmington,
Hugh Williams, of Farmville,
Tiffany Williams, of San Marcos, CA,
Renn Carroll, of Wilmington, and
Austin Williams, of Raleigh;
six great-grandchildren; and
sister, Catherine Bullock and husband, Darrell, of Stokes.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 2 until the funeral hour at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
