COVID-19 Coronavirus Response

In response to the recent declaration of a state of emergency by Governor Roy Cooper regarding the COVID-19 Coronavirus, Wilkerson Funeral Home is working to maintain a safe environment for the families we serve and those who may choose to attend a visitation or service.  To that end, we have instituted the following practices:

1. Hand sanitizer has been placed at our main entrance, and all visitors are encouraged

to make use of that prior to interacting with others.

2. For times of visitation, we will work to spread family members out and establish a
visitation line for all guests in an effort to reduce large numbers of people gathering in any given room.

3. We are working towards recording all funeral and memorial services held in our chapel.
Recording may not be available for services held at cemeteries or other offsite locations
The video recordings will be uploaded and posted to our website once the service is over.
So, family and friends who are concerned about attending a public event
may still be able to watch the service from their own home.
The video link will be found under the “Photos/Videos” tab on each person’s obituary page.

Additionally, we kindly make the following request of family members and visitors:

1. If you currently have ANY cough or flu-like symptoms, please avoid visiting the funeral home
and make use or our website to send a condolence to the family. If you do visit the funeral home,
please limit your visit to recording your signature in the register book located at the front desk.

2. If you do decide to attend a service or visitation, we recommend you utilize the hand sanitizer station
setup in the lobby. Our restrooms are also available for handwashing.

3. While awaiting to speak to a family for a visitation or service,
please try to limit congregating and maintain a single file line.

4. Refrain from handshaking and touching of others, if at all possible.

5. Please keep visit time brief, to allow for all guests the opportunity to
express their condolences without overcrowding our visitation spaces.

6. Utilize the online condolence option and service recordings (if available) on our website.
