Obituary for James Owen Hardee

Mr. James “Jim” Hardee, 86, passed away Friday, March 20, 2020.

A private graveside service will be held in Pinewood Memorial Park.

Mr. Hardee was a native and lifelong resident of Pitt County. After graduating from Chicod High School, he served in the US Army for 4 years. He was employed with E.I. Dupont until his retirement in 1985 after 32 years of service and was a longtime member of People’s Baptist Church. In his retirement, Mr. Hardee helped his wife with her business, Sarah’s Draperies and Window Dressings, and enjoyed travelling with family and close friends. He was a hardworking man who loved the Lord and his family.

Mr. Hardee was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Sarah Hudson Hardee; and brother, Floyd Hardee.

He is survived by his current wife, Juanita C. Hardee and her family; son, Jimmy Hardee and wife, Deborah, of Apex; daughter, Lisa Hardee Robinson and husband, Ronnie, of Greenville;
grandchildren, Collin, Corbin, and Camryn Hardee of Apex; Colby Robinson and wife, Lauren, of Matthews, and Kinsey Robinson of Lynchburg, VA; brother, Leroy Hardee and wife, Iva Lou, of Ayden; a number of nieces and nephews, and many special in-laws in the Hudson family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to People's Baptist Church, 1621 Greenville Blvd. SW, Greenville, NC 27834.
