Obituary for Ronald Lee Faulk

Ronald Lee Faulk was born on November 22, 1944 in Winston Salem, NC. He passed away on March 26th, 2020 in Smithfield, NC.

A private service will be held on Monday March 30th in Greenville. He will be laid to rest at Pinewood Memorial Park. An open memorial service will be held at a later date.

Ron worked and retired as a Cartographer for the United States Government Defense Department in Washington DC. He worked on several top secret and high security projects over his many years there. He also owned and operated a Sunoco Service Station in Aspen Hill, MD which he kept meticulously clean and where his sons Wes and Clint worked with him growing up. The service station won several regional awards for being the cleanest and having the most professional atmosphere. Ron loved cars. He could tell everything about any car just by looking at them. He had an eye for vehicles, especially his favorite, Ford trucks. After retiring from the US Government, he decided to pursue his love of cars full-time and went into his own wholesale car business which benefitted many people across the country including friends and family. He enjoyed all types of sports with his kids and grandchildren. He coached many of his children’s teams despite working three jobs to support his family and provide a private Seventh-day Adventist school education for them. He loved classic country music, dancing, and music by Elvis, including his gospel songs. However, most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and grandchildren whenever he could. He never missed a special family event. He loved his mother Jewell Estes dearly and took care of her and Lewis Estes for many years in his home.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents Benson Faulk, Jewell Estes, and Lewis Estes (Step-Father).

He is survived by his sister Pamela (Richard) Collins of Gaithersburg, MD. Three children: Wesley (Jolene) Faulk, of Fayetteville, NC, Colleen (Matthew) Fox, of Severna Park, MD, and Clinton (Julia) Faulk, of Greenville, NC. He leaves behind 9 grandchildren whom he cherished: Connor Faulk, Brendan, Ryan, Dillon, Madeline, and Catherine Fox, Mackenzie, Caroline and Noah Faulk.
